Annual Reports

More an effort to document our evolution  as a community than a true "annual report," each season contains miscellany on our actions and efforts, success and failure.

The information is offered here to both our membership and the larger gardening community, so more individuals can come together and participate in growing their own food.

2007

The first year you take on forming an organization, however small and focused, will always bring unique challenges. We got a late start on the season, preparing our beds through early May, and our drip irrigation was setup sometime in June. But our early summer lettuce harvests were amazing, and this year's tomato and basil harvest was more than most of us could probably hope for!

In addition to a great harvest, our two goals for this season were improved working member coordination and fiscal sustainability.

2009

2009

Our third season and one expansion is underway. One of our members has some irrigated land on which we will experiment with Blue Corn and a couple other low-maintenance crops. With a lot of water and a little luck, we should increase our harvest with a minimal added labor investment. In addition, we are reaching out to other local growers to purchase some produce for our members that we cannot grow in our own garden for various logistical reasons.
